Our Contribution

Midnight VFX contributed both on set and in post production, delivering a range of visual effects and 3D asset work. Our team was assigned to create two LOD 25 assets of barricades and porcupines, ensuring efficient geometry without compromising detail. We also handled crowd extensions and a series of generic composites, supporting the production with a streamlined and consistent visual outcome.

About the film

Na m’ Agapas is a Greek romantic drama that follows a deeply emotional and often complicated love story between two people whose lives become entangled in ways they never expected. As they struggle to overcome personal wounds, family conflicts, and long-buried secrets, their relationship is constantly tested by misunderstandings, societal pressure, and the weight of their past choices. Through tender moments, painful revelations, and powerful emotional confrontations, the series explores how love can both heal and break, and whether true connection can survive when everything around it seems determined to tear it apart.

Our Contribution

Midnight VFX contributed to three key episodes, delivering approximately twenty high-end VFX and AI-enhanced shots. Our primary objectives included generating realistic, physically convincing fire while working with minimal on-set lighting references, performing seamless crowd replication, and integrating a villa originally filmed in Athens into a hillside environment in Nafplio.

Although our team was not present during the shoot, we adapted our methodology to maintain the highest visual fidelity within the given timeframe and budget. To overcome the lack of on-set data, we implemented an optimised AI-driven workflow for fire simulation, environmental integration and crowd augmentation. This approach allowed us to preserve accuracy, enhance realism, and deliver results that remained fully aligned with the creative and narrative intent of the production.

About the film

Aaron Eckhart stars as Steve Vail, a disillusioned former CIA operative who has left the spy life behind to work as a literal bricklayer in Philadelphia. The agency is forced to reactivate him when a rogue former agent (Clifton Collins Jr.) begins assassinating international journalists and framing the CIA for the murders. Reluctant to return, Vail is paired with a by-the-book junior agent (Nina Dobrev) and sent to Greece to hunt down the extortionist, clear the agency’s name, and uncover a deep conspiracy.

◣ VFX Breakdown

Our Contribution

Midnight VFX was commissioned to deliver approximately 460 shots within a tight 3.5-month timeline. The scope required a diverse range of high-end VFX work, including:

– A full 3D recreation of Philadelphia.
– Complex crowd replication and set extensions.
– Extensive FX work (explosions, muzzle flashes, blood hits).
– Essential cleanup (wire removal, bluescreen keying).

The project faced a critical turning point six weeks into the schedule. While the deadline and budget remained fixed, the concept for the full set extensions was completely redefined mid-production. We needed to discard initial work and pivot to a new creative vision without jeopardizing the final delivery date or the visual quality of the 3D environments.

To accommodate this major pivot, our team re-engineered the asset pipeline to prioritize flexibility. By optimizing our workflow for rapid iteration, we successfully integrated the new set extension concepts while simultaneously managing the volume of 400+ other shots. The result was a seamless, on-time delivery that met the client’s new creative goals without exceeding the allocated resources.
